AVOCADO OVERVIEW

🥑SUPPLY UPDATE

In a nutshell the national production figures for last week were as follows

·       Week 37, 2024 - The industry experienced a 2.92% decrease in production on the previous week’s harvest with a total of 431,227 tray equivalents harvested and transported (approx 10,000 less tray equivalents) on Week 37, 2024 production.

Production across the country saw WA/NT now take the lead in production - accounting for 24.57% of the total volume, followed by Central NSW accounting for a further 24.42%, then Tristate accounting for 22.25%, Southern QLD with 11.19% and finally NZ, Central Queensland and North Queensland with harvests accounting for 8.61%; 3.58% and 2.26% respectively of the total production for the week. Of the 431K trays produced this week - approximately 78.5K were in the form of bulks/processing tray equivalents and 33K tray equivalents were exported leaving just shy of 320K tray equivalents for the domestic market.

·       It is forecast that a total of some 464,000 tray equivalents will be despatched this week (Week 38) nationally, with the majority of this obviously being hass. Production for the next three week period thereafter, is expected to fall within the range of 480 to 495K tray equivalents per week which will mean a steady increase in numbers.
